There’s just no telling where Tech N9ne’s many inspirations could come from. Following news of his biggest week on Billboard with All 6’s And 7’s, MTV has released a new video interview with Tech from his Strange Music offices. Speaking on the official “He’s A Mental Giant” music video, Tech reveals that Tupac Shakur actually had a hand in steering the direction of the video after a chance encounter. Tech said of the incident:

“I used to tell everybody I was from K.C.; they was like, ‘They let y’all rap in Kansas City? How’s Dorothy and Toto?’ ” he recalled of the ribbing he got from ‘Pac and other rappers. “I’m like, ‘OK, watch this.’ “

The result was Tech’s twistedly strange take on a Wizard Of Oz theme for “He’s A Mental Giant”. Running through a crazed land with his alter-egos, Tech escapes with his sanity intact. With a legend like Tupac still influencing him creatively, it’s no wonder Tech N9ne shot up to #4 on Billboard’s Top 200.
