‘I Made The Album Go From Bad, To Better, To Best’ Tech N9ne’s Interview With HipHopDX

Jul 31 2013

Tech N9ne

Tech N9ne is notorious for never sugar coating subject matter in his work. Days before the release of Something Else, he opened up to Omar Burgess of HipHopDX to discuss many of the layers behind what is some of his most personal work to date.

The interview covers everything from Tech N9ne’s musical influences to the detailed ideology behind the progression of Something Else through Fire, Water and Earth to plans for an E.B.A.H. comic with famed artist Rob Prior. Tech also addresses his shocking revelation on “I’m Not a Saint” and how he expects it to further connect him to fans.

An excerpt from HipHopDX:

Well when they see someone they look at on a pedestal going through the same thing, that’s where we connect. It will make them more comfortable coming out and saying, “That happened to me too.” So I’m sure I’m going to hear that after this album. People are going to say, “Man that happened to me too…this happened to me too.”
