The year belongs to the Snake and Bat.
Following the release of Stevie Stone’s 2 Birds 1 Stone, which claimed the #9 spot on the Rap charts this past week, Billboard reports that Strange Music leads the pack with the most albums on the Rap charts in 2013.
Stevie’s successful first week marks the 8th debut on the Billboard Rap Charts, something that no other imprint has accomplished this year. The article adds:
For comparison’s sake, Young Money and Cash Money are tied for the second-most debuts on Rap Albums this year with four titles.
According to Billboard, Strange Music DOUBLED the chart placement of what is arguably the most popular mainstream hip hop label this year.
With 2013 not quite done, Strange Music still has 2 more full-length releases to go – Krizz Kaliko’s Son Of Sam and Prozak’s We All Fall Down. Both slated to drop within weeks of each other, Billboard notes both Krizz Kaliko and Prozak already have top 10 albums under their belts with Kickin’ & Screamin and Paranormal, respectively.
The bar has been set – it goes up!
