What started in Kansas City has turned into something bigger than most could have ever imagined.

For Tech N9ne’s KC stop on The Something Else Tour, the adoring hometown crowd witnessed a truly special surprise as Strange Music CEO Travis O’Guin interrupted the show to present an unsuspecting Tech N9ne with his very first RIAA certified gold plaque for the song “Caribou Lou”. The potent blend of Bacardi 151, Malibu Rum, and pineapple juice inspired the Everready party anthem which has over a half million sales and counting.

The event had an added bonus with a visiting Nick Cannon on stage during the plaque presentation. The truly surprised Tech N9ne graciously accepted the plaque and dedicated the success to the crowd, stating wholeheartedly “Kansas City, you made this!”

Raise your cups in the air, Tech N9ne done messed around and went gold.
