With 2015 approaching fast, it’s about that time to reflect back on the year and its highlights. KC did just that and showed some hometown love to one of its very own who’s doing it big: Tech N9ne.
Kansas City’s Ink Magazine and renowned KC critic Timothy Finn recounted the 2014 highlights in music for Kansas City and cited the “Tech N9ne Juggernaut” as one of this year’s big accomplishments.

He made Forbes magazine’s list of the top 20 earners in hip-hop for 2014, placing in a tie for 16th (with Swizz Beats, Ludacris and 50 Cent) with $8 million in earnings. In May, “Strangeulation,” the latest in Tech N9ne’s Collabos series, topped Billboard’s R&B/hip-hop album chart. In June, he performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” dedicating “He’s a Mental Giant” to his mother, who had recently died. Tech also got some national air time during the World Series, when he snagged a front row seat behind home plate for game 1 at Kauffman Stadium.
