With The Special Effects Tour starting up next month, we like to take a chance to familiarize Strangeland with some of the artists touring alongside our Strange Music artists. One artist that may not be as well-known among our fans is Chris Webby, a Connecticut native with impressive bars and an even more impressive story.
The grind is nothing new to Webby. As a fellow independent artist for several years, he released 7 mixtapes, 2 EPs, and one album, Chemically Imbalanced. One of his well-known singles, “La La La” from his first mixtape released in 2009 entitled The White Noise LP has over 5 million YouTube views.
The video game lover, as seen on his tattoos, has had little free time. He toured all over the US and Canada on multiple headlining tours, such as his Chemically Imbalanced Tour and Bars On Me Tour, just to name a few. Using social media and a loyal fanbase, his mixtapes received hundreds of thousands of downloads on DatPiff. Working independently for many years to release music and tour, he signed to eOne Entertainment and Homegrown Music Group in 2012. This eventually led to the creation of Chemically Imbalanced in 2014, which later hit #25 on the Billboard Top 200.
Regardless of his independent status, Webby has collaborated with artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Kid Ink, Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., Mac Miller, and more. He also worked with some Strange Music favorites, featuring Tech N9ne in “Ohh Noo” and Rittz in “Ride On“. He is well-known for his freestyles, frequently throwing bars down at his shows. You can catch him doing a freestyle at Sway In The Morning.
Strange Music is excited to have hip-hop head like Chris Webby on the Special Effects Tour roster, making this tour one you don’t want to miss.
