In preparation for The Storm, releasing next Friday, Tech N9ne will be spending the week doing press runs in New York.

Fresh off the plane, Tech stopped in to Sway In The Morning for an interview and freestyle alongside Smoke DZA & Pete Rock. With Pete Rock on the mixing board, we had the chance to hear Tech N9ne over that classic New York sound – something that you need to hear.

After kicking the freestyle, Tech went into depth about what we can expect from The Storm, his purpose for “Godspeed”, thoughts on mumble rap, and his continual incline in the game.

I think it’s amazing that I’m still on the incline after all these years. I wrote my first rhyme in ’85 – in the 7th grade. To still have hits poppin’ and still getting gold records, on the way to platinum. It’s a crazy thing.
