For this edition of Independent Grind’s ‘Put You On Game‘ series, we are bringing you the exclusive premiere of a new song from up-and-comer Bray Costello!
Though intoxicating and eerily engaging, “Fuck Your Funeral” hones in on seriously melancholy vibes. The interesting atmosphere is set off by producer, Fat Bastard, who paces a haunting vocal cop with some crisp drums and light, atmospheric strings.
Atop the dusty boardwork, Costello echoes the mood of the beat with lines like,”Any bitch that loves me needs to love herself more.” He continues, both wrestling with the inner-turmoil while celebrating the nightly numbing of.
Even with the distorted vocals (mixed by No Limits) Costello is able to convey the pain and jaded feel the lyrics describe.
While not attached to his forthcoming project, “Fuck My Funeral” is a sign that more music is on the way for the unique artist.
While we wait for a clearer picture to emerge from his haze, be sure to check out his Death Lessons EP, and keep an eye on the collective he is a part of, soon//, with fellow collaborators, xthedolphin, kennyhoopla, Leek , and more.
While we have you, this is a reminder that Independent Grind is bringing you the best the independent world has to offer 24/7 on Dash Radio and you can also catch even more dope music during the Mid-Morning Grind show airing every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12 PM/11 CST!
